The Doyle Center for Manufacturing Technology’s mission is to help U.S.-based small- and medium-sized manufacturers (SMEs) better compete in the global economy. The Doyle Center’s research-based solutions create revenue opportunities for SMEs, while enabling original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to quickly adapt to market conditions. The Doyle Center is recognized as a leader in Network Centric Manufacturing, which enables the next generation of dynamic supply chains. These flexible and agile supply chains have been defined across all industries as the most effective means to reduce cost, improve response times and increase competitive advantage. Through its Web-based portal, the Doyle Center will enable SMEs to participate in these supply chains by seamlessly and cost-effectively removing technology and process barriers. With the help of Congressman Mike Doyle, the Doyle Center grew out of research done at Carnegie Mellon University. This research is the basis for the methodology the Doyle Center uses to address the new manufacturing paradigm and strengthen U.S. manufacturing.
